Paul Francis Bradley, 84, of Philipsburg, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Paul was born in Pittsburgh, to the late Daniel and Catherine (Dalton) Bradley.
Paul proudly served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education as well as earning the Small College All-American Football Award. He completed his Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Above all, Paul had a love of sports and working with the youth, in and out of the classroom. He was a teacher and football coach for Altoona Catholic (1958-1961) and Moshannon Valley School District (1961-1966). He finished his career in education as a Guidance Counselor at the Philipsburg-Osceola Junior High School (1966-1993); where he also coached football, basketball and golf. When Paul was not on the sidelines as a coach, you could often find him refereeing or umpiring a game as a PIAA Official. Upon retirement, volunteering at the Moshannon Valley YMCA kept him connected with the youth and the community.
Paul was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, the Houtzdale American Legion, Freeberg Post #0591, the PASR organization for retired educators and the Philipsburg Elks Lodge #1173 and Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf before and after his retirement. One of his passions was the Central Counties Golf Association, particularly the Youth Scholarship Program, which now bears his name.
He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Marguerite (Marcocci) Bradley, who he married on June 27, 1959, at Sacred Heart Church in Altoona. He is also survived by his five children: Craig and Barbara Bradley of Harrisburg, Lisa and Tommy D’Amico of Durham, North Carolina, Brian and Brittney Bradley of San Marcos, California, Kathleen and Scott Muthler of Roaring Spring and Erica and Jack Williams of Philipsburg; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Lena (husband Ryan), Rachel (husband David), Mary, Annie, Julie, Jacob, Noah, Cole, Harley, Jocelyn, Eli, Jesse, Clara, and Julia; and two siblings, Margaret Schmitt of Murrysville and Daniel Bradley (wife Mary Jane) of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Bradley; his brother, John Bradley; his brother-in-law, Fran Schmitt; and his brother, Bill Bradley and sister-in-law, June Bradley.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St., Philipsburg, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 10 am, with Father John Gibbons, celebrant.
Interment with military honors will be at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg.
