Pauline V Alexander, 88, of Snow Shoe, died peacefully at her son’s home in Metuchen, NJ, on Friday, May 29, 2015 of natural causes. Born March 6, 1927, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Sapula Stania. On November 30, 1946, in Clarence, she married William I. Alexander. They celebrated 53 years of married before his passing.

Pauline attended the Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence.
A homemaker for many years, she was later was employed by Erie Technologies in State College.

Pauline enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. She was well known for her famous homemade bread, nut rolls and fruit cake along with many of her home cooked specialties.

Pauline is survived by three daughters; Cynthia Alexander and her husband, James M. Galvin, Jacqueline Vachaviolos and her husband, George, and Michelle Alexander, all of Plainfield, NJ and a son William S. Alexander, of Metuchen, NJ. She is also survived by; three grandchildren, Alexander, Douglas and Craig; son in-law, Joseph Cicardo of Plainfield, NJ; brother, Steven Stania of New York; and a sister in-law Mary Staco of Snow Shoe.

Along with her parents and husband, Pauline is preceded in death by a son, Alexander D. Alexander, a daughter, Patricia “Tish” Alexander Cicardo, and a granddaughter, Alexandra Vachaviolos.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church, 102 Church St. Clarence, at 11am with Father Mark R. Reid as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church, 102 Church St. Clarence, PA 16829 or to the Snow Shoe Ambulance Club, PO Box 95, Snow Shoe, PA 16874.
