Pauline Grace Fogleman, 97, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, and formerly of McAlisterville died Monday, March 29, 2010, at the village.
Born Dec. 17, 1912, in Licking Creek, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Longacre) Horning. Her husband, LeeRoy R. Fogleman, whom she married on Dec. 30, 1934, preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1985. Surviving are one son, Kenneth C. Fogleman, Sr. and his wife Nancy, of State College; two daughter-in-laws, Elizabeth N. "Tootie" Fogleman, Barbara P. (Fogleman) Rohrer, both of McAlisterville; she leaves behind eight grandchildren, Donald L. "Buddy" Fogleman, II, Kenneth C. "Chip" Fogleman, II, Patricia L. Fogleman, Amy Jo Hermann, Mark A. Fogleman, Tina L. Fogleman, Tracy L. Kauffman, Gary D. "TJ" Fogleman, Jr.; and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sons, Donald L. Fogleman, Sr. and Gary D. Fogleman; and she was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph Horning, LaRue Ebright, Glenn Horning, and Esther Colyer.
Her memberships included the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the McAlisterville Women's Club, all of McAlisterville and she was a former member of the Juniata Saddle Club. Mrs. Fogleman was a homemaker who, along with her late husband LeeRoy, owned and operated Fogleman's General Store, McAlisterville. Pauline enjoyed quilting, painting, gardening, reading, and bird watching.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2010, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown. Viewing will be held from 4-9 p.m., with the family present from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the funeral home.
