Obituary of Peggy J. Ishler, 86

Peggy J. Ishler, 86, of State College, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Centre Crest Nursing Home.

Born May 29, 1932, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Margaret (Knisley) Keller. On August 17, 1950, she married Norman Ishler who preceded her in death on February 9, 2011.

Peggy graduated from the Bellefonte High School and worked for Penn State for several years. She and her husband owned Ishler's Furniture Store for fourteen years. Peggy was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, being a homemaker was her most treasured accomplishment.

She is survived by three sons, Richard N. Ishler (Dawn) of Luthersburg, PA, Bradley A. Ishler (Tena) of Port Matilda, James T. Ishler (Barbara) of Port Orange, Fl; one brother, Kenneth Keller of Bainbridge, GA; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Keller; sister, Nancy Brown, and daughter–in–law, Georganne Ishler.

Friends will be received from 10:00am – 11:00am on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral services will immediately follow with The Rev. P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park.
