Peggy J. Shoff, 83, of Philipsburg, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at her residence.
Peggy was born on April 10, 1934, in Philipsburg, a daughter of William Audie and Margaret (Jones) Adams.
She was a 1952 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
During the late 1970’s, she was the owner / operator of “The Little Shop,” a clothing boutique formerly located in Philipsburg. More recently, she had retired from working as a home health caregiver.
Peggy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg. She was also a member of several Philipsburg area organizations including: her role as an actress and director for the former Pennhurst Players, a past-president of the Philipsburg American Legion, Post 437, Auxiliary and the B.P.O. Elks and Country Club, #1173.
She enjoyed spending family time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had several hobbies that included her love for golf, bingo and trips to the casinos. She had a passion for rescuing animals.
Peggy was married on July 9, 1954, at the First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg, to Robert A. Shoff, who survives at home.
She is also survived by two daughters, M. Jill Blake and her husband, Donald, and Tina L. Askey and her husband, Brian, all of Philipsburg; one son, Robert Scott Shoff, of Philipsburg; five grandchildren: Jason Shoff and his wife, Holly, Todd Askey, Trevor Askey and his fiancée, Ashley, Casey (Blake) Marsh and her husband, Chris and Cristen (Blake) Wetzel and her husband, Tyler; four great-grandchildren: Austin Shoff, Autumn Shoff, Jaylen Askey and Piper Askey; two step-great-grandchildren, Coyia and Alexandria Wetzel; a sister-in-law, Ginny Adams; and a niece, Margo (Adams) Muchinsky, her husband, Lee and their daughter, Marlee Muchinsky.
Peggy was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald “Audie,” William H. “Billy Buster,” and Robert Leroy “Bobby,” Adams; and one infant sister, Betty Adams, in addition to her parents.
There will be no public visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with Rev. Dr. Katie K. Hopper, officiating.
Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
