“A heart of Gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove, He only takes the best” Penny LeAn Brunner Bispo, passed peacefully on Monday January 22, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. The world as we know it has changed forever as she went to be with our Lord and savior, suffering no more.

Born April 8, 1971 in Bellefonte, PA to Harry R. Brunner, Jr., and the late Beulah Jane Hosband Brunner, Penny grew up in State College. She was a 1989 graduate of State College High School where she participated in the marching band. Penny graduated in 1994 from Penn State University with a degree in Administration of Justice – Criminology. She worked from early 2000 for Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia where she loved and excelled at her job as a Criminal Analyst and Evidence Technician. She later moved back to State College where she was a substitute teacher for State College Area School District.

A wife of 21 years, she is survived by her husband William Eldred Bispo, they were married April 27, 1996 in Vienna, VA. She lived for being a mom to the light of her life, her seven year old son Lucas William Bispo who survives. She would tell everyone that her true purpose was to be his mom and best friend. The family feels blessed to know that Penny will live on through him.

To define Penny would be too hard. It would be easier to think of everything in life that is good. The best mom, a devoted wife, a selfless daughter to her parents, a loving sister to her siblings, a fun spontaneous Aunt to her nieces and nephews. A very loyal and inspirational friend to so many. She had such a witty sense of humor. Always putting others before herself. A true warrior, she fought and defeated Breast Cancer. A true child of God. A shining light to all who ever met and knew her. She was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her four siblings, Peggy Smith and her husband Wade of Sterling, VA, Patti Woods and her husband Richard of Bellefonte, Brad Brunner and his wife Ann of Howard, Pam Ebert and her husband Michael of Charles Town, WV.
