Obituary of R. Lucille Hoover, 80

R. Lucille Hoover, 80, of Pine Glen, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on June 25, 1933, in Peru, PA, she was the daughter of the late John & Nellie Baney Lockhart. On November 1, 1958, in Pine Glen, she married Melvin E. Hoover who passed away on April 16, 2012.

Lucille was a 1951 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked on the assembly line at Murata Erie retiring after 27 years of service.

Lucille was a member of the Pine Glen United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Even though she worked outside the home, Lucille worked beside her husband at their family farm. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and camping at the Grange Fair.

Lucille is survived by five sons; Kevin L Hoover and his wife, Tammy of Pleasant Gap, Keith A Hoover and his wife, Susan of Pine Glen, Kenneth S. Hoover and his wife, Patricia of Poulsbo, WA, Quint Hoover and his wife, Lorie of Zion, and Kory B. Hoover and his wife, Amy of Hampton, VA. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren; Derek, Curtis, Michael, Jessica, Patrick, Alyssa, Brittany, Christian, Jamie, Robin, Lydia, Kortney, and Kerri, and five great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a son; Steven G. Burkholder, a daughter; Karen A. Gentzler, a brother; Frank Lockhart, and a sister, Esther Brooks. Lucille was the last of her generation.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St, Snow Shoe. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating. Burial will be at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.
