Raul Marcelo Endara, M.D., 84, of State College, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at home.

Born April 9, 1932, in Otavalo, Ecuador, he was the son of the late Jose Elias Endara and Dolores “Lola” Mino de Endara. On June 6, 1964 he married Marjorie Miller, who survives.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Saona and her husband, Jaime J. Saona, of State College; three grandchildren, Carolina Saona, Jaime M. Saona and his wife, Megan and Cristina Saona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and a grandson, Ricardo Saona.

He graduated from Medical School in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration.

Raul was a Physician in a private general medicine practice in Otavalo and Quito, Ecuador. He also worked for a government agency known as the Ministry of Public Health; the World Health Organization in Washington, D.C. and Geneva, Switzerland; was a Physician at the HCJB Voz Andes Missionary Hospital in Quito, Ecuador; and worked at Hunts Point Medical Center in New York City.

He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.

Raul was very kind and generous and was loved by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 1221 West Whitehall Road, State College. Funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Aaron Henning officiating.

Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
