Rebecca Louise Close De Vinney, 73, went to be with her parents in Heaven on December 27, 2015. She was at home surrounded by her family when she passed. She was born in Philipsburg, PA, to the late Irvin and Martha Jane Stoddart Close. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hope De Vinney Bechdel in 1998. On November 27, 1964, she married Richard A. De Vinney, in Bellefonte. They just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.

She is survived by two daughters Ramey L. De Vinney (Rob) and Rian L. Roan (Joseph) all of Zion. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Carson, Caitlyn, and Carlee Bechdel, and Regan, Rilie, and Rorie Roan. Two sisters, Linda Sukula (Michael) of Coalport, PA, and Mary Kathleen Swoope (Edward) of Glen Hope, PA.

Rebecca was a loving wife, and wonderful Mother, and Grandmother. She made every day special by putting joy in our hearts. She will be truly missed but never forgotten because she left us with wonderful memories to cherish forever. In all ways, and for always, we will be in love with you.

Rebecca was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School, and a graduate of the Centre County Practical Nursing Program. She was a dedicated nurse who started her career at the Centre County Hospital that later became Mount Nittany Medical Center. In 1999, after 36 years of nursing, she retired to stay at home with her grandchildren.

There will be a public visitation held Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 10am until 12pm, at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 North Spring Street, Bellefonte, PA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 12pm, at the funeral home with David Dimmick as officiant.

Burial will follow at Zion Union Cemetery in Zion, PA.
