Reuben M. “Rube” Workman, 87, of Centre Hall passed away peacefully, Monday, January 25, 2017 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.

Born September 21, 1929 in Lynside, WV, he was the son of the late Paris and Lilly Mae (Lane) Workman.

On May 26 1951 in Wrightsville, PA, he married Rose M. Livelsberger, who survives in Lewistown.

Rube was a dairy farmer all his life and for twenty-three years sold farm supplies for IBA. He was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. Rube loved his wife and family. He enjoyed life, picnics, fishing, sports, walking and reading. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, John M. (Paula) Workman of Hublersburg; four daughters, Dorothy M. Workman (James Getz, Jr.) of Lewistown, Kathy M. Cornely (Gary Fogel) of Barto, PA, Margaret M. Marker (William) of Lewistown and Marcia Marlatt (Ronald) of Atoka, TN; two brothers, Fred and George Workman; three sisters, Catherine Baldwin, Sue Redding, Violet Redding (James); eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and his Doxy dog, Sally.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Verna Mullens and Shirley Baldwin.

Visitation will be noon to 1:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Rebecca Horn officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Centre County Memorial Park.
