Obituary of Richard Woomer, 80

Richard C. Woomer, 80 of Howard, passed away, Monday, January 21, 2013 at Jersey Shore Hospital. He was born October 11, 1932 in Marsh Creek. He was the son of the late Floyd T. & Dora Nyman Woomer.

On July 20, 1955 he married Janice McCloskey who survives at home.

He worked for Standard Lime and Marblehead Lime for 41 years retiring in 1993.

He was of the protestant faith. He was very active in the International Brotherhood Union D92 of Bellefonte. He enjoyed watching football and baseball, especially the Howard baseball team. He enjoyed spending time with his family particularly his grand & great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one daughter; Pamela D. Walkowiak of Lock Haven, One son; Bradley D. Woomer also of Lock Haven, two brothers; Lee & Darrel Woomer, five sisters; Verda Haas, Relda Lyons, Elaine Heaton, Adalene Miller, and Lois Bowes. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Natashja (Jeff) Olivia (Nick) and Tatanja, and two great-grandchildren; Shay Anne Elizabeth, and Keiran James Richard. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Lester & Ralph Woomer,

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 3:00 p.m. with the Pastor Dan Longmore officiating. Family and friends will be received from 1:00 – 3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Boggs Twp. at the families convenience.
