Robert Calvin Henninger, 80 of Port Matilda, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

He was born March 27, 1930, a son of the late William Sherman and Neva Ellen (Price) Henninger. He was married Aug. 22, 1953, at Winchester, Va., to Dorothy Mae Hannah. He is survived by his wife; five sisters, Geraldine Miller (William), Lucy Irwin and companion Gerald Gephart, Deloris Ellen Craig, Neva Arlene Sweeney, and Marilyn Lee Hipple; three brothers, Chester Stephen Henninger (Garnett), James Frederick Henninger, and Oscar Edwin Henninger (Karen); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Wesley Sherman and William Richard Henninger; and sisters, Verna Mae Kephart and infant, Mary Sharon.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. A life member of the Port Matilda Fire Co., a member of the Port Matilda Legion and the VFW #4559. He was an avid bowler and hunter. He and his wife were dedicated campers usually at Hidden Valley near Mifflinburg. He had worked for Claster's in Bellefonte and for Cerro-Copper & Brass. He retired from PennDot as a carpenter, driver and bridge repairman.

Funeral services with Military Honors by the Tyrone Honor Guard, will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Samuel Reese officiating. Internment will be at Port Matilda Cemetery.
