Obituary of Robert D Ranio, 67

Robert D. “Bob” Ranio, 67, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Born on August 1, 1949, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Michael Ranio, Sr. and Isabelle Gettig Sager, who survives in Bellefonte. On August 18, 1990, in Howard, he married Judith Weaver, who survives at home.

Bob is a 1968 graduate from Bellefonte Area High School where he excelled in football. Bob was enlisted in the US Navy where he earned the rank of ADJ3. He received the National Defense Service Medal for his service.

He attended the Living Hope Alliance Church in Bellefonte. He was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at Cerro Metal in Bellefonte, retiring after 34 years of service.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, going to camp, and being in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed the Jeep rides through the woods. He was a very active man. There was never a dull moment with Bob was around. Of all the things Bob has done throughout his life, nothing compared to the time he spent with his very special little girl, Skylar. They had a bond that will never be broken.

Bob is survived by his mother, wife, three sons; Richard Weaver, Troy Knecht and his wife, Shelly, and Clair Knecht, his very special little girl, Skylar Ridenour, and brother, Michael Ranio, Jr all of Bellefonte.

Also surviving are his grandchildren; Craig, Hanna, Grace, and Faith, nephews; Edward Ranio and his wife, Kristine, Jason Ranio and his wife, Shannon, and Aaron Ranio and his wife, Abigail, all of Bellefonte.
