Robert Myles “Bob” Dillon, 80, of Centre Hall, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1937, on the Wallace and Sadie White Farm, in Linden Hall. He was the son of the late Stewart T. and Virginia Susanna Weader Dillon. On October 28, 1961, he married Rose Marie Witherite, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Michael Robert Dillon and his wife, Shari Benfer, of Spring Mills and Brenda Marie Steiger and her husband, Robert Jr., of Centre Hall; two siblings, Rudolph N. Dillon and his wife, Carol, of PA Furnace and Thelma Dillon Horner of State College; five grandchildren, Lucas M. and Elliot M. Dillon; Dillon R., Ty X. and Zoah A. Steiger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Hutchinson.

He was a 1957 graduate of State College High School. He served in the United States Army after graduation from 1957 until 1959. Bob graduated from Penn College in Williamsport in 1961.

He retired in December of 2000 as a Supervisor for the Applied Research Lab at Penn State University, after 39 years of service.

Robert was a 50-year member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Centre Hall.

He served three terms as past president and seven years as secretary for the Nittany Antique Machinery Association. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge No. 537 in Old Fort.

Robert was a master craftsman and enjoyed repair challenges. He owned and operated Dillon's Repair, a machine shop in Centre Hall.

He loved his dog, Molly, Rose's home cooking, and making apple butter in the fall. Robert was a devoted and proud husband, father and grandfather. Earlier in life he enjoyed traveling with his family.

Visitation will be 6 until 8:30 p.m., on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the funeral home with the Reverend Brandon Cian officiating.

Burial will be in the Reformed Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall.
