Robert E. Harman “Bob” of State College, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at home. He was born on November 29, 1927 in York. He was the son of the late Harry and Margaret Pinkerton Harman. On June 14, 1969, in Boalsburg, he married Etta Bennett Gramley, who survives.

He is also survived by two daughters Kim Young and her husband, Scott, of State College, Sherri Spotts and her husband, Tim, of Centre Hall; three sons, Jeffrey Harman and his wife, Randa, of State College, Gary Gramley and his wife, Cindy, of Centre Hall, David Gramley and his wife, Linda, of Spring Mills; a sister, Margaret Gladfelter of Apopka, FL; seven grandchildren, eleven great children, six step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jac, Harry, Ronald and John; three sisters, Dorothy, Mary and Jean, and a granddaughter Allison.

Bob graduated from York High School in 1945. After graduation, he served 18 months in the US Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he was employed as a dental technician. Bob was employed by National Gypsum in York, PA as office manager and later in sales for many years. After moving to the State College area, he owned and operated the Stevens Motel. Prior to his retirement, he worked in home construction. After retirement, he was employed as a courtesy van driver for Stockers Chevrolet and for Carquest delivering auto parts.

Bob was a member of F&AM Lodge 700 and the State College American Legion. He loved to travel and spend time with family. Bob was a huge Penn State sports fan. He loved football, baseball, women's basketball and wrestling. He had an uncanny ability to know “the turning point of the game!” Many wonderful memories were made over the years and will live on forever.

Family and friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 and 10 until 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
