Obituary of Robert G. Wingard , 88

Robert G. Wingard, 88, of State College, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Mount Nittany Medical Center at State College.

He was born April 14, 1921 in Millersburg, PA, a son of the late George S. and ZelIa Cook Wingard.

On February 6, 1943, in Germantown, PA, her married V. Joyce Crosson, who preceded him in death on August 7, 2001.

Robert was a graduate of Millersburg High School and Penn State University where he earned Bachelors and Master of Science degrees. He was a professor at Penn State University for 31 years and a Wildlife Management Specialist at the university's College of Agriculture.

He was a WWII Navy veteran serving as an Aviation Chief Ordnanceman. Mr. Wingard was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, State College.

Robert is survived by one daughter Tawna A. Parko and her husband Norm of Bloomsburg, a sister, Janet W. Groff of Ridley Park, PA, and three grandchildren.

A memorial service is being planned at a later time and date to be announced. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Gamer Street, State College, PA 16801.
