Obituary of Robert Hampton, 81

Robert C. Hampton, 81, of State College died August 30, 2014 at his residence.

Born January 8, 1933, in Morgan Run, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Clark and Esther (Anderson) Hampton.

On October 20, 1979 he married Carolyn (Weakland) Mullen who survives at home.
He was a life member of the State College American Legion and a life member of the Elks BPOE 1600. He enjoyed playing his guitar and piano, hunting, golfing and watching boxing and western movies, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Bob was an avid Pirate and Penn State Football fan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his three sons, Robert C., Jr., Lenny S. and Roderick A. Hampton; four brothers and three sisters.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a step daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Daub; four grandchildren, Christina Lewis, Carl and Jason Hampton and Jared Ross; one brother, Donald Hampton; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1:30 P.M.,Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with the Reverend J. Ray Baker officiating and military honors in accord.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks Street, State College, PA 16801.
