Robert L. “Bob” Miller, 71, of Howard, was completely healed on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 when God called him home. Born on March 18, 1943, in Lock Haven, he was the son of Dorothy M. Miller. He was raised by his grandparents, Wilson and Hazel Miller. On August 30, 1962, in Marsh Creek, he married Janet L. Packer, who survives at home.
Bob was a 1961 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He was member of the Summit Hill Wesleyan Church in Marsh Creek. He had two years of apprenticeship in upholstering at Penn State University. He worked as an upholsterer for Penn State, retiring in 2003 after 40 years of service.
Bob enjoyed hunting, telling his hunting stories, fishing, camping and just being outdoors admiring God’s creation. The loved to watch western movies and was an avid reader. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his family and spending time with them.
Bob is survived by his wife, children; Cheryl R. Breon and her husband, Dennis, of Howard, Richard L. Miller and his wife, Candice, of Howard, and Amy J. Rooks and her husband, Jonathan, of Maryland. Also surviving are his five grandchildren; Alicia Kitchen and her husband, Toby, Abbie Harter and her husband, Wyatt, Ian, Ryan, and Eliana Rooks, and one great grandson, Gavin Harter.
Along with his mother and grandparents, Bob was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Breon.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and laughter. He always put others first, he lived a life of genuine kindness, humility, and perseverance. He was supportive and encouraging to all. It is our great loss, but Heaven’s gain!
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, in Howard. Funeral service will be on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2pm with Pastor Kenneth Stephens officiating. Burial will be at Summit Hill Cemetery in Marsh Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family as asked that memorial contributions be made to the Summit Hill Wesleyan Church, 1725 Summit Hill Road, Howard, PA 16841 or the Howard Area Lions Club, PO Box 467, Howard, PA 16841.
