Robert James Martin Sr., 81, of Bellefonte passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born March 24, 1934, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late William and Meriam (Long) Martin. On June 9, 1952, he married the love of his life, Nancy R. Owens, who survives at home.

He attended Bellefonte High School and served our country as a U.S. Marines Corporal from 1951-1954. He started working at Cerro Copper & Brass in 1963 and retired after thirty-one years of service.

Robert enjoyed keeping himself busy by hunting, working and getting together with his fellow Marine buddies. He was always talking and helping people at every opportunity and particularly loved spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by three sons, Robert Jr. (Sandra) of Bellefonte, Barry (Denise) of Bellefonte, Randy (Wanda) of Grassflat, and one daughter, Brenda (Greg) Herman of Frisco, TX; twelve grandchildren: Tommy (Heidi) Martin, Tracy (Denny) Houser, Tonya (Rory) Luse, Brian Martin, Adam Martin, Austin Martin, Robbie Martin, Lindsey Martin, Hannah Martin, Gillian Herman, Andrew Wolfe, and Aleah Wolfe; eleven great-grandchildren: Dylan, Logan, Kennedy, and Sydney Houser, Raegyn, Luke, Ryleigh, and Jackson Luse, Brady, Hope, and Shayna Martin; one brother, Leroy (Jane) Martin; three sisters, Nancy (Dave) Hosterman, Kate (Mel) Cox, and Janet (Jerry) Vonada.

Robert was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Rd., Bellefonte, PA 16823. The service will immediately follow with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. Interment will follow the service at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, 1513 Race St., Philadelphia, PA 19102.
