Robert ” Pat ” Davy, 93, of Blanchard passed away at his home on Wednesday August 16, 2017.

He was born in Blanchard on May 6,1924, a son of the late George and Alma Daughenbaugh Davy.On December 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Mo. he was united in marriage to L. Ruth Roe. She preceded him on August 1, 2001.

Pat was the Principal of the Pleasant Gap Elementary School for many years. After his retirement from education he began his career with the Pa. Fish and Boat Commision as a Deputy Fish Warden.

He Proudly served his country as a nose gunner and bombadier aboard B-24's during World War Two in the Army Air Corp. His crew flew missions in Burma, China, and India

Pat was very involved in his community in many capacities over the years and always enjoyed helping others. He was a member of the Howard Area Lions Club where he was past president twice and received the Melvin Jones award for service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Upon returning from the war he was offered a contract to pitch for the St. Louis Browns professional baseball team. He also served as a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals.
