Obituary of Robert W. Burrell, 86

Robert W. Burrell, 86, of Boalsburg, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at his home.

Born Jan. 25, 1924, in State College, he was a son of the late George A. and Rae Gummo Burrell. He married Elizabeth "Lib" Gilland, who died April 24, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a mail carrier for the postal service for many years. He belonged to the Boalsburg Sportsman's Club.

He is survived by a brother, Gene D. Burrell and his wife, Shirley, of Katy, Texas; nieces, Linda White, of State College, Bonnie Horne, of Georgia, and Carol Thompson, of Montana; a nephew, Tex Burrell, of Austin, Texas; cousins, Jim and Vicky Spadaccio and Rick and Trudy Holsopple, all of Pennsylvania Furnace.

Visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010, at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Mottin officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
