Obituary of Ronald Apichell, 77

Ronald J. Apichell, 77, of Bellefonte passed away on May 24, 2018 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Ron was born on June 7, 1940 in Danville, Pa., the son of the late Joseph “Jake” and Florence Glazik Apichell. On July 16, 1966 in Mt. Carmel he married the former Francine Rovito, who survives at home. Also surviving Ron are his son, David Apichell of Astoria, NY; his brother, Robert Apichell of Harrisburg; his brother in law and sister in law, Sam and Patti Rovito of Kulpmont; his niece, Jennifer (Pastor Zachary) Hopple and his great nephews, Sammy and Gabriel Hopple of Shamokin, Pa.

Ron served his country in the U. S. Army. Ron was a 1958 graduate of Kulpmont High School and attended Penn State Schuykill Haven Campus. He had attended Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. He was also a member of the Elks in Mt. Carmel. Ron had a long career with Robert Hall Clothes, including manager of the State College store. He had worked for Stan Miller Ford in State College. He worked in contractors sales at Lowe's in State College and also at Lezzer Lumber. He was an avid Penn State fan and was a model railroader.

Family and friends will be received at the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Andrew Morgan and Pastor Zachary Hopple officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte, Pa. 16823 in Memory of Ronald Apichell.
