Ronald W. Kauffman, 72, of Pine Grove Mills, peacefully joined the Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2015, in his home, with his family by his side.

Born July 20, 1943, in Millheim, he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Rosemond Frank Kauffman. On June 16, 1964 in Boalsburg, Ron married Bonnie Steese, who survives.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Ron is survived by three children, Michael Kauffman and his wife, Penny, of Pine Grove Mills, Melissa Kauffman and Patrick Farrell, of Bellefonte, and Ron A. Kauffman and his wife, Tara, of State College; grandchildren, Clint Kauffman, Crystal Lingle, Chelsie Lingle, Douglas Kauffman, Daniel Kauffman, Riley Kauffman, Callie Kauffman, and Fallyn Kauffman; great-grandchild, Brayden Brooks; and brother, Richard Kauffman of Oregon.

Ron graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1961. He served in the Army Reserves and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Ron was a master carpenter who worked for J. Alvin Hawbaker, Benchmark Realty, and later owned and operated ARK Construction until his retirement.

He fervently enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a big NY Yankees fan. Ron attended the Park Forest Baptist Church, State College. Ron also loved people, and his welcoming smile will be missed by many who knew him. He was always ready to help others.

But more than anything else, Ron was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His love for family, and the pride he took in all of his children and grandchildren was apparent to all. “Loves you Pops”.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Robert Loring officiating. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery.
