Obituary of Ronald W. Tressler Sr. , 70

Ronald W. Tressler, 70, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at home.

Born Dec. 18, 1938, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John C. Tressler and Grace Confer Tressler. On May 26, 1962, he married Cecelia "Sue" Praskovich, who survives at home.

Ron was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and attended Penn State University. He served in the US Air Force. He was a retired Spring Township Police Chief. He was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, the Old Fort Lodge #537 F & AM, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #51, charter member of Pleasant Gap Lions Club, life member of the Pleasant Gap and Undine Fire Companies, Pleasant Gap American Legion #867, and Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks #1094.

Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons; Ronald W. Tressler, Jr., of Issaquah, Wash., and Christopher D. Tressler, of Pleasant Gap; three grandchildren, Johnathan Tressler, Kendra K. Tressler, and Alicia Witherite.

Friends will be received Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. 206 N. Spring St. Bellefonte PA, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 10:30am at the funeral home with Reverend Thomas M. Osif officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
