Rosemary H. Branding, 96, of State College died August 27, 2015 at the Anthony House of Foxdale Village.

Born November 29, 1918 in East Carnegie, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Marie (Wade) Hutchison.

On December 25, 1941 she married August E. Branding who preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her children, Charles in 1983 and Susan Harding in 1999.

Rosemary was a graduate of Carnegie High School in Carnegie, PA. She worked for the steel mills while she was in high school, then she was employed by Singer Sewing Machine, teaching sewing classes. She also worked for Ward’s Steel Mill as a key punch operator and payroll accountant. After she and her family moved to State College for the second time, she worked at Penn State University in several secretarial positions including the graduate school for fifteen years.

She was a member of Park Forest Village Methodist Church, and was one of the first residents of Foxdale Village moving there in May of 1991. Her biggest talent was in sewing, needle point, cross stitch and embroidery.

Mrs. Branding is survived by her loving son-in-law, Bruce P. Harding and his companion Rosalind “Roz” of Mountain Top, PA; three loving grandchildren, Heather Harding Jackson and her husband Steve of Laurel, MD and Hillary Harding Stitt and her husband Jeremy of Indiana, PA, Bryan August Harding of Mountain Top, PA; four great grandchildren, Riley and Carter Jackson and Gavin and Nolan Stitt; and one sister, Dorothy Turner and her husband Bill of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 2-3 PM at Foxdale Village, 500 E. Marylyn Ave., State College, PA.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Park Forest Village Methodist Church, 1833 Park Forest Ave., State College, PA 16803, or the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St., #206, State College, PA 16803.
