Obituary of Roy E. Kooney, 79

Roy E. Kooney, 79, of Woodward, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Centre Crest Nursing Home, in Bellefonte. Born on August 7, 1934, in Montandon, PA., he was the son of the late Stewart and Audrey Confer Kooney. On July 7, 1972, in Clarence, he married Geraldine A. “Tootsie” Tobias, who passed away on December 28, 2009.
Roy was a 1952 graduate from Lewisburg High School. He served in the US Army earning the rank of SP4 (E4). He worked in the Food Services as a cook for Penn State University, retiring in 1991 after 35 years of service.

Roy was of the protestant faith.

Roy, along with his wife, enjoyed going auctions, collecting cookie jars and glassware.
Roy is survived by a sister in law, Margie Chambers in Clarence, nieces and nephews.

It was Roy’s request to have all services private. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
