The spirited soul of Ruby Noll Ammerman left this earth and soared to heaven on 5/30/09. Her loving and devoted husband, Charles Ammerman, was by her side.

Ruby entered this world on June 18, 1921 in Nelson, NE, the daughter of the late Theodore and Frances Zikmund Svoboda. She valued her Czechoslovakian heritage. Ruby graduated from Nelson High School and attended The University of Nebraska. While at university, Ruby embarked on a life of adventure. As a pilot, her love of flying and the offer of employment led her to a small airport in Bellefonte, PA, The Noll Flying School, where she met Terrence A. Noll, also a pilot. They married on March 23, 1943. They became the parents of Terry Eileen Noll of State College and Jacqueline Noll Chandler (Rick) of Carmel, IN. Ruby was employed as a Human Resources Representative in the Intercollege Research Programs at Penn State University, and retired after 22 years of service. On January 18, 1992, Ruby married Charles Ammerman who survives in Pleasant Gap. This union brought a step-daughter, Pam Wasserman (Dave), of Sugar Land, TX into Ruby’s life. Ruby also is survived by her grandchildren Robin Moyer Tallon (Joe), Sherry L. Moyer, Lenae Chandler Goeke (Tom), Melissa J. Chandler, Bret A. Chandler (Meredith), and by her great grandchildren Aubrey and Sherry Tallon, Jamison and Elyse Chandler, and Thomas Goeke III. Her first husband, Terrence A. Noll, predeceased her on February 1, 1982.

Ruby loved life and was an adventurer, a doer, a woman of conviction and strong values. She was vital and vivacious and loved to laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her.
