Obituary of Sara Zerby, 93

Sara E. Zerby, 93 of Lock Haven, formerly of Mill Hall, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. She was born in Mingoville on June 19, 1920 the daughter of the late William and Anna Folegman Sproul.

On July 5, 1957 she married Roy C. Zerby who preceded her in death on August 5, 2002.

She attended Walker Twp. Schools. She was a homemaker.

Sara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lock Haven for over 50 years, serving as a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years.

She is survived by two step-sons; Harry Zerby of Lock Haven and Chester Zerby of Wyasock. Along with her husband she was also preceded in death by two step-sons; Richard and Leroy Zerby and one step-daughter; Kathryn. Also surviving are two sisters; Ida Breon of Bellefonte and Caroline Himmetwright of Mill Hall. She was preceded in death by brothers; Samuel, Harvey, William and infant Mahlon, also two sisters; Verna Kerstetter and Martha Bartley. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two step-sons; Richard and Leroy Zerby, a brother; William Sproul, and a sister; Martha Bartley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 210 N. Vespers Church, Lock Haven, Pa with Jeff Bayliff officiating. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Zion Cemetery.
