Sarah L. Decker, 90, of rural Spring Mills, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 20, 2011.

She was born a daughter of the late Ralph G. and Ethel Long Homan.

October 1, 1941, she married Clyde “Buck” E. Decker who preceded her in death April 27, 1998.

Always busy as a homemaker, she also assisted on the family farm.

Mrs. Decker was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Nittany Antique Association.

Among the things she enjoyed most were both flower and vegetable gardening, canning, going to the family cabin, campfires and being outside. Family was very important to her. She organized the annual Decker reunion and hosted the event for nearly forty years.

Sarah is survived by two daughters, Nancy E. Shunk and her husband James, with whom she resided, at rural Spring Mills and Betty J. Dietrich and her husband Paul of rural Centre Hall; her daughter in law Linda Decker Reitz and her husband the Reverend LeRoy E. P. Reitz of rural Spring Mills; one brother Evan Homan and his wife Lorna of Rebersburg, five grandchildren, Lisa L. Vavrick (Randy), Robert S. Decker (Jill), Tracy R. Noll (Brad), Kelly J. Moran (Tom) and Corby J. Shunk (Nicki); and ten great grandchildren, Shane and Lindy Vavrick, Shannon, Megan, Seth, and Curtis Decker, Taylor and Morgan Noll, and Baylor and Colten Shunk.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Robert E. Decker on February 27, 1990; one sister Lois Brooks and three brothers George, Robert and Donald Homan.

Friends will be received from 6 – 8 p. m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The funeral will be at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the church, with the Rev. Scott A. Klimke officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
