Obituary of Seymore E. Vonada , 87

Seymore E. Vonada, 87, of Lemont, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at his residence with his daughter by his bedside.

Born June 22, 1925, in Aaronsburg, he was the son of the late Bruce R. and Sarah Jane Korman Vonada. On January 1, 1947 he married Ethel Arlene Musick, who preceded him in death on November 8, 2010.

He is survived by two children, Joyce M. Vonada, of Pleasant Gap, Larry E. Vonada and his wife, Helga, of Bellefonte; one brother, Lester”Snap” Vonada and his wife, Dawn, of Woodward; five sisters, Shirley Witmer, of Watsontown, Helen Matters and her husband, Truman, of Mifflinburg, Susan Shively, of Millmont, Betty Reber and her husband, Harold, of Mifflinburg, Linda Luse, of Aaronsburg; three grandchildren, Ken, Keith and Rick; and three great grandchildren, Matthew, Kendra and Colby. He is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He worked as a carpenter in construction throughout various locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He was a member of the Greater Pa Regional Council of Carpenters in Pittsburgh, local union 950.

He enjoyed antiquing, camping, traveling and going to Flea Markets. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Brotzman officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
