Shirley Merle Ripka Breon, 76, of Millheim, was called home by her Lord on July15, 2010.
Born Oct. 5, 1933, in Potters Mills, she was the only child of the late Lloyd and Mildred Ripka Smith. Shirley was a 1951 graduate of the Gregg Township Vocational School. On a beautiful Grange Fair evening, Shirley met the love of her life, Donald Breon. They were wed on June 1, 1952. Donald still resides at their home in Millheim. After 22 years of work, Shirley retired from Gettig Pharmaceutical. She was a member of the St. Luke's Methodist Church in Millheim.
In addition to her loving husband, Shirley is survived by one son, Rick Breon (Lisa), of Aaronsburg, and one daughter, Diane Casher (Ed), of Pleasant Gap. Also surviving is one grandson, Jason Showers (Michelle Hoy), of Pleasant Gap; one granddaughter, Lori Breon, of Aaronsburg; and one great-grandson, Owen Showers, of Pleasant Gap.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 19, 2010, from 9:30- 11 a.m. at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Krum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be given to New Hope Lutheran Church, 119 Cobblestone Court, Spring Mills, PA 16875. Arrangements by The Steven R. Neff Funeral Home.
