Obituary of Shirley Spicer, 74

Shirley L. Spicer, 74, of Howard, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at home. A daughter of the late James and Betty (Reed) Shuey, she was born February 17, 1938, in Bellefonte. She married Willis N. Spicer, who survives at home.
She attended Bellefonte Area High School and was retired from Centre Hills Country Club in State College.
Shirley was a member of the Eagle Heights Bible Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lesa King of Howard, one step-son, Robert Spicer of Castanea, two sisters; Nancy Funk of Lamar, Margaret Resides of Zion, three brothers; James Shuey of Beech Creek, Ronald Shuey of Mount Eagle and John Shuey of Hubbard, OH. Also surviving are three grandsons; Todd, Joseph and Michael Ciancarelli, and two step-grandsons, Drew and Davis King.
Her grandsons were her pride and joy. Shirley loved Christmas, hummingbirds, gardening and her pets.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Todd Spicer.
A public visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2012, from 6-8 pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 1:00 pm, at the funeral home, with Rev. Stephen R. Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte
