Sondra McCoy Snare, 70, of State College, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
Born June 23, 1939, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Hazel Cramer McCoy of Bellefonte and the late Donald H. McCoy.
On October 22, 1957, she married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Clair "Butch" LeRoy Snare, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2004.
Before retiring, she worked as administrative secretary for the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Nittany Baptist Church and the "Angels" support group.
She was an avid baseball and football fan, the Yankees and Penn State being her favorites.
There was nothing more precious in her life than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her faithful dog, Yankee.
She is survived by her three daughters; Robin Barton and her husband Michael of Unionville, Melody Abler and her husband Kenneth of State College, and Jennifer Schnarrs and her husband Brian of Allport; by her nine precious grandchildren, Brandi Bloom and her husband Craig, Bridget Schnarrs, Joshua Hoy, Jeffrey Barton, Christopher Schnarrs and Tiffany, Alisha Barton, Sondra Schnarrs, Colton Corman and Samantha Schnarrs; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lukas, and Holly; and countless friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday, September 3, and from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM, Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Interment will be immediately afterward in Centre County Memorial Park.
