Steve A. Spilla, 93, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg. Born on July 25, 1925, in Clarence, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Schall Spilla. On March 26, 1951, in Clarence, he married Albina L. Kachonick. Albina passed away on January 15, 2018.

Steve attended the Clarence School. He was a member of the Queen of Archangels Parish Church in Clarence. He worked at JH France Refractories in Clarence for over 35 years, retiring in 1987.
Steve was enlisted in the United States Army during WWII. He received the World War II Victory Medal and an honorable discharge for his service.

Steve was a member of the Clarence American Legion Post 813. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, feeding the birds, and watching the deer come into his yard. His favorite pastime was tinkering with lawn mowers in his garage.

Steve was survived by his two children; Kenneth L. Spilla and his companion, Cindy Hubler, of Snow Shoe and Cheryl Pash and her husband, Mike, of Grassflat, and by his four grandchildren; Brandon Pash, Amos Perts, Lesha Perts, and Novis Perts.
Along with his parents and wife, Steve was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Perts, three brothers; John, Paul, Andy, and Joseph, and one sister, Anna.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11am at the Queen Archangels Parish Church, 102 Church St. in Clarence, with Father John Gibbons officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
