Obituary of Thomas Butterworth, 60

Thomas J. "Pete" Butterworth, 60, of Snow Shoe, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Nov. 1, 1949, in Philipsburg, he was a son of Ann F. Urbanick Butterworth, of Clarence, and the late John W. Butterworth. Mr. Butterworth was a 1967 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and was a laborer in construction for HRI of State College. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Butterworth was a member of Clarence Moose, Snow Shoe VFW and Snow Shoe Fire Hall.

He enjoyed hunting, cutting wood, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Erica L. (Marty) Schwahb, of Bellefonte, and a granddaughter, Leah R. Schwab, of Bellefonte; three brothers, Frank W. (Bill) Butterworth, and Stephen J. (Bruno) Butterworth, both of Snow Shoe; and John W. "Herk" Butterworth, of Clarence; and a sister, Sara A. (Toots) Haines, of Snow Shoe. In addition to his father, Mr. Butterworth was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Betty JoAnn Schwab.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the funeral home, with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating. Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township.
