Obituary of Thomas E. Allen , 61

Thomas “Sadie” E. Allen, 61, of Aaronsburg, died Wednesday, May 20, 2010, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1949, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Russell “Rolly” Allen and Annabelle L. Shay Allen.

On September 16, 1972, he married Raylene Parrett who survives at home.

Tom graduated from Penns Valley Area High School and from the masonry program at the Vocational Technical School at Pleasant Gap.

He worked for Philip Bozak Construction for several years, then, worked for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, retiring after twenty eight years of service.

His memberships included the Millhein Fire Company, the R & R Gun Club and a social membership at American Legion Post 779 at Old Fort. Among the things he enjoyed the most were fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Allen is a daughter, Melissa Vonada and her husband Brian of Aaronsburg; two sons, Thomas “Scott” Allen and his wife Stephanie of Bellefonte, and Travis S. Musser of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren, Levi, Trevor, Zach, Kyle, T. J. , Madison, Torri and Trav; one sister Ellen L. Holden of Richmond, VA; and two brothers, Sidney D. Allen of Millheim and Terry L. Allen and his wife Mary of rural Spring Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Susan J. Decker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p. m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p. m. at the church, with the Reverend K. R. Mele officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
