Obituary of Thomas J. Sharpe, 29

Thomas J, Sharpe, Jr., 29, of State College, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on November 23, 1988, he was the son of Thomas and Cheryl (Moss) Sharpe, Sr., who both survive at home. He was married to his beloved wife, Jessica Brindle, who also survives at home.

He was a 2007 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. Thomas worked as a lab technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Christopher and Jackson Smith, of Port Matilda. Also surviving is one sister, Susan Bates (Doug) of Poplar Branch, NC, and one brother, David Sharpe of State College; and one niece, Taryn Bates.

Thomas was a devoted father of his children, Christopher and Jackson, and loved spending as much time with them as possible. He loved larping and playing nerdy games. He especially enjoyed camping, hiking and traveling.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Unity Church of Jesus Christ at 2280 Commercial Blvd. State College with Pastor Harold McKenzie officiating a short service at 7PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a cancer research foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
