Obituary of Thomas Monsell, 82

Thomas L. Monsell, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 in State College, Pa. He was born December 31, 1929, the son of the late Charles and Laura Detrich Monsell. He married the former, Shirley E. Hazel (Monsell) on July 3, 1952, she preceded him in death on October 15, 2003. Tom was a Veteran having served in the U. S. Air Force. He was employed at Cerro Metal Products in the Payroll Office. Tom was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Bellefonte. He was a member of the Bellefonte Elks Club, he enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, and camping. He is survived by two daughters; Michelle Furgison of Philipsburg and Vanessa Holtzinger of Julian; one sister, Jean Menold of Bellefonte and one brother, James of Florida. He also was survived by three grandchildren; Talen Von Gunden, Devon Von Gunden of Bellefonte and Jerica Holtzinger of Julian. Also surviving are five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sisters; Ruth Fulton, Kathryn Bickel and Lena Tice and one brother, George Monsell. Services will be held at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 8 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, June, 6, 2012 from 7 PM to 8 PM. Burial will be in Centre Co. Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co., Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Pa.
