Thomas D. Wayne 84, of Bellefonte, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, at home. A son of the late Thomas P. and Lutitia (Gensemere) Wayne, he was born on June 22, 1930, in Philadelphia. On February 19, 1955, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, he married the former Marian Rider, who survives at home.
Tom was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School, Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service, where he was a letter carrier. Tom was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Bellefonte and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.
Along with his wife of 59 years, he is survived by one son, Thomas R. Wayne and his wife Georgi L. of Fleming, two sisters; Donna Curtis and her husband Ben of Maryland, Judy Hall of Virginia, two brothers; Jerry Wayne and his wife Susan of Florida, and Robert Wayne and his wife Kay of Arizona. Also surviving are twin grandchildren, Sam and Cassie Baronner of Hollidaysburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Murray.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, PA 16823, with Father George Jakopac officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
