Tina Jane Czajkowski passed away at home on Nov. 29, 2009. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on July 18, 1957, a daughter to William E. Murphy, of Lemont and the late Jane B. Murphy. On Dec. 15, 2001, she married Thomas J. Czajkowski, of State College.
Tina graduated from State College Area High School in 1975. She graduated from Penn State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and later with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. The majority of her working career was spent as a registered nurse in various capacities in Ga., Md. and Pa. As a teenager, Tina raised, trained and showed Irish wolfhounds. She was a classically trained violinist and played with the State College Symphony and later with Callanish, a local Celtic folk group. Working at the Centre Learning Community Charter School in State College, she established a string program. As a charitable project for the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church, she edited and produced a CD recording with all proceeds donated to the church restoration.
Tina was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and performed there periodically. She offered violin, viola and fiddle lessons to students of all ages. Besides music, Tina enjoyed gardening, especially raising roses. She was a Penn State Master Gardener. At the CLC Charter School, she offered environmental and garden projects for the young students. Tina is survived by her son, James L. Blose, at home; her son, Jonathan R. Blose, and his wife, Ashley, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; her daughters, Erin H. Blose and Meghan J. Blose, at home; her brother, Lee Murphy, his wife, Susan, and nephew, Nicholas; step-children, Kevin M. Czajkowski, and his wife, Tracey, of North Huntingdon; Mark T. Czajkowski of State College; Karen Dogra, and her husband, Amit, of Phoenixville; and Steven Czajkowski, of Pittsburgh; and five step-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Eric Shafer and the Reverend Dr., G.
