Ursula Graf Gusse, 83, resident of Greenwood, S.C., widow of William Henry Gusse, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2009 at her daughter's home.
Born in Raftz, Switzerland, Feb. 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Frieda Reber Graf. Mrs. Gusse retired in 1988 from Penn State University after twenty-eight years of service, where she was Assistant Director of Food Services. After retirement she established Mrs. G's Bed and Breakfast just off the campus of Penn State where she enjoyed working another ten years. A member of the 9:00 AM Swim Group at the YMCA, Mrs. Gusse also taught knitting at the Senior Center and was a member of the Iris Garden Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed knitting various crafts for church ministry.
Mrs. Gusse was preceded in death by a sister, Regula Lorand. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara DuPont and husband, Timothy, of Greenwood, S.C.; grandson, Matthew DuPont also of Greenwood, S.C.; brother, Hansjorg Graf and wife, Heidi; two nephews, Ruedi Graf and wife, Coni and Andrew Lorand; and niece, Katrin Graf, all of Switzerland. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Mayo and Reverend George Wilson officiating. The family is at the home of her daughter, Barbara DuPont, 114 Ashford Place in Gatewood. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Christian Children's Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA, 23294 or to a charity of choice.
