Obituary of Vaughan L. Johnson, 90

Vaughan L. Johnson, 90, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at Haven Extended Care, Lock Haven.

Born Aug. 16, 1924, he was the son of Malcolm and Ida Earon Johnson.

He married the former C. Jane Levi on Nov. 19, 1946 in Monument. Jane preceded him in death March 17, 2008.

Vaughan graduated from Lock Haven High School. He had been employed at Harbison Walker Refactories in Monument, until his service in the United States Army. He served in the Eighth Armored Division Europe Theater for three years.

After returning from the war, he was employed at Piper Aircraft for 30 years. He also operated farms with his brothers Harold and M. Paul, who preceded him in death.

Vaughan is survived by two sons, Kevin (Darla) of Beech Creek and Kerry (Maureen) of Mill Hall; two daughters, Kimber (Craig) Kling of State College and Kenda Young of Manheim; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Vaughan was a member of the Howard Christian Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, Howard, with funeral services to follow. Rev. Charles Salmon will be officiating.

Interment will be in Hayes-Fearon Cemetery in Beech Creek at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Howard Christian Church.
