Victor “Vick” William Sempsrote Jr., passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was born on December 20, 1939 in Povidence Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Victor and Virginia Needham Sempsrote.

After moving several times his family settled in Mattoon Il. He was a 1958 graduate of Mattoon High School. After completing high school Vic earned a degree in business administration from Eastern Illinois University.

Vic knew how to enjoy life and after spending several years doing so he settled down to raise his daughters. During his many years working he held jobs as a champion Weimaraner dog breeder. He raised blue ribbon winning roosters. He spent his youth detassiling corn. He worked in a factory making fiberglass. He worked as a supervisor at Knauff. His job as a floor supervisor at Kenametal brought he and his two daughers to Pa. He then moved to Centre Co. to take a computer programing position at Murata Erie. In 1988 he accepted the lead programing position at Cerro. He remained with the company after they were bought by Triangle Auto Springs and he relocated to Dubois, Pa. In 2005 he retired to Bellefonte, Pa.

In his golden years he moved to Julian, Pa. where he enjoyed online poker, Budweiser, Marlboros, sitting on his porch and chating with his neighbors and most importantly spending time with is family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Smith, his son Kyle Sheldon Sempsrote, and his grandson Jordan Michael Sempsrote.

He is survived by his children; Danealle (Patrick) Johnsonbaugh of Bellefonte, Brandy (Michael) Yearick of Julian, Dale (Angie) Sempsrote of Shelbyville, In., Brooke Sempsrote of Shellbyville, In. and his grandchildren; Patrick Jr., Garrett, Colten, Trent and Ella Johnsonbaugh of Bellefonte, William Walton of San Rafael, Ca., Anthony Daniels, and Sarah Yearick of Julian, Carolynn Young of Port Matilda,, Abby (Nathan) Willis , and Rowen Sempsrote also of Shelbyville, In.

There will be a private viewing and services for the family.
