Obituary of W. Anderson, 88

W. Paul Anderson W. Paul Anderson, age 88, died on December 29, 2016, at Westminster Woods in Huntingdon.

He was born on the family farm near Butler in 1928, and served in the United States Navy as a medical corpsman from 1946 to 1948. After college at Penn State and a few years farming with his father, Paul became an Extension Dairy Specialist for Penn State. He lived in State College for many years and was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church. He was also a 4H leader for the Tussey Mountain Junior Rifle Club and a long time member of the Loyalsock Rod and Gun Club in Sullivan County. In recent years he had been a resident of Westminster Woods in Huntingdon and a member at Stone Church of the Brethren.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Metzger Anderson. Also preceding were brothers, Robert Eugene Anderson (and an infant twin) and George Elton Anderson; and sister, Mary Jane Anderson Barnhart.

Paul is survived by daughter, Dr. Ruth Anderson, of South Carolina; son, Keith Anderson, of Maryland, and son, Philip Anderson, of Emlenton. Also surviving are five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
