Surrounded by his loving family, Warren E. Royer, 76, of Smullton, passed from this life on Friday, October 24th at his home. Born on May 15, 1938 in Bloomsburg, Warren was a son of the late Sidney D. and Hazel (Walters) Royer. On October 21, 1962, Warren was united in marriage to Margaret I. Neese who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by his children, Carol Royer of Rebersburg, Hope Witherite (Wayne II) of Madisonburg and Henry Royer of Smullton; one brother, Robert Royer (Linda) of Catawissa and three grandchildren, Gregory Wayne Witherite, Faith Irene Witherite and Summer Rose Reamer. Warren was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Mae, Esther, Paul, Johnny, Jimmy, George and Davey.

Warren served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a cook at Penn State University, retiring with 20+ years of service. After retirement, Warren transported the Amish of Penns and Brush Valley. He enjoyed traveling, puzzle books and loved to watch old western movies and western television shows. Warren loved to cook and was known for his baked oysters. He was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ. Above all else, Warren enjoyed spending time with his family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am -1:00 pm on Monday, October 27th at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will follow at 1:00 with Pastor’s Marvin and Kenneth Freed officiating. Warren will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills. Contributions in memory of Warren may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
