Obituary of Wava Doherty, 78

Wava J. Doherty, 78, of Snow Shoe, died Sunday, October 28th, 2012 at Mt. Nittany Medical Centre State College. She was born on March 7, 1934, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Cecil L. and Dorothea K. Witherite Witherow. On January 13, 1961, she married Donald P. "Ducky" Doherty who survives at home.

Wava was a 1953 graduate of Clearfield High School. She was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Snow Shoe for many years. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe where she was a member of the Prime Timers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo Snook, of Snow Shoe, a son, Paul C. Doherty, of Grassflat; and two grandchildren, Ronald Snook and Sean Doherty.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Edward, James, and George Witherow.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 1st, at 11:00am at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 675 East Sycamore St. Snow Shoe, with Pastor Douglas Mottin officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hills Methodist Church Cemetery, Grassflat, at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at her church.
