Wesley Charles Rishel, 17, of rural Spring Mills died Monday, August 18, 2014 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.

Born September 29, 1996, in State College he was the son of Keith E. and Betsy C. (Gordon) Rishel..

Wesley would have been a senior at Penns Valley High School and in the auto body class at the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Technology at Pleasant Gap.

He attended The Abundant Life Church of Penns Valley and was associated with the Grace UCC Church in Spring Mills and the Emmanuel UCC Church in Tusseyville.

He worked part time for Kent Rishel Construction and the Oasis Grange in Millheim. Being unusually gifted mechanically, he was very skilled in diagnostics and subsequent repairs. He deeply enjoyed mechanical work, body work and restoring cars. Wes had a unique ability to explain how things worked so that even the most inexperienced layman could understand the process clearly.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters Cassandra R. Rishel-King and her husband David of Millheim, and Ashley C. Rishel (Jeffrey A. Lamey) at home, a nephew Jonathan who always referred to Wesley as uncle Boo; his maternal grandmother, Janet I. Gordon of State College, and his paternal grandfather Charles E. Rishel of Tusseyville; his dogs Snookie and Christine, and his cat Steve.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Thursday, August 21, 2014 at New Hope Lutheran Church 119 Cobblestone Court, Spring Mills. The funeral will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 22, 2014 at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. Following the services, and throughout the Grange Fair friends are invited to stop by the family tent to visit and share memories with the family.
