William “Clark” Packer, Sr., 95, of Snow Shoe, formerly of Port Matilda, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Clark was born on October 22, 1923, in Runville, a son of the late James Cleveland and Ada Jane Watson Packer. He was married to the former Inez J. Williams, who preceded him in death on February 21, 2011.

Clark is survived by his children, Elizabeth “Dolly” Packer (Don) Bassett of Virginia, Beryl J. Packer (Dave) Grothaus of North Carolina, Mary J. Packer (Kim) Park of Snow Shoe, Jo Ellen Packer of Snow Shoe, William C. Packer, Jr., of Harrisburg, and James R. Packer of Snow Shoe. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren; Jerry Spackman, Chrishawn Spackman, Key Bassett, Willis Park, Brianne Park, Hannah Park, Alyssa Packer, Megan Meyers, Brittany Packer, and Jamie Packer and his 7 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Ethel Sager of Julian and Mary Lou Carlin of Snow Shoe.

Clark was employed as a supervisor in housing and food services at The Pennsylvania State University before his retirement.

Clark was of the Protestant faith. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Army in the Medical Corp. He was a member of Bellefonte Loyal Order of Moose #206, V.F.W. Post # 1600 of Bellefonte, Port Matilda American Legion Post #536. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge #494 in Tyrone. He was a member American Folk Music Association, and a member of Central Pennsylvania Caller's Association.

He served on the Bald Eagle Area School Board, and was a former Worth Township Supervisor. He was known to family and friends for his love of country music and square dancing. Clark often entertained with his quick wit and silly songs.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ron Snare, a great-great-granddaughter, Meriah Spackman, 4 sisters, Sara Faye Meckley, Virginia Saxion, Elizabeth Lightner, Alice Strunk, and 3 brothers, Martin Packer, Warren Packer, and James Packer.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, in Memory of William “Clark” Packer, Sr.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 6PM-9PM at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg.

Funeral Services will be held at The Runville United Methodist Church, 1216 Runville Road, Bellefonte, PA , on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1PM with Pastor Douglas W. Mellott, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., PA
