William Bill E. Maddox Jr., 75, of Fleming, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at home. He was born Nov. 8, 1936, in Hopewell Township in York County, a son of the late William E. and Margaret Runkle Maddox Sr. On Feb. 14, 1987, he married Virginia K. Fishburn, who survives at home. Bill was a self-employed carpenter and also was a delivery driver for Edible Arrangements. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Number 423 of Shrewsbury and the Mid-Centre County Sewer Authority. He was an emergency coordinator for Unionville and Union Township. He helped build several Habitat for Humanity Homes. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, aviation, sporting events, especially Bald Eagle Area girls softball. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Beth Ann Maddox, of Hampton Road, Va.; two sons, William E. Maddox III, of York and Justin W. Maddox, of Philipsburg; and three step-sons, Jason Mitchell, of Bellefonte, Jared Mitchell, of Snow Shoe and Joel Mitchell, of Fleming. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph L. Maddox, of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barbara Mosch officiating. – Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township. Arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg.
