William J. “Bill” Morgan, Sr., 83, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2014 at his home following a long battle with cancer. Born on June 4, 1931, in Snow Shoe, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sadie Hauser Morgan. On August 4, 1950, in Snow Shoe, he married Dorothy J. Dudish, who survives at home.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He was a member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. He was a long time member of the Snow Shoe Area Lions Club and the Snow Shoe Fire Company.

Bill was in the coal business for many years with Johnson & Morgan Coal Co. then with Mountain Top Coal and then a rental business, All Season Rentals. Bill was happiest when he was working, especially running a piece of heavy equipment. He was proud of all of his grandchildren and especially enjoyed his two great grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife, two sons; Robert L. Morgan of Snow Shoe and Gerald L. Morgan and his wife, Christial, of Bellefonte, one daughter, Cindy M. Angeline and her husband, John, of Hockessin, DE, seven grandchildren; Jamie Morgan and his wife, Erin, Dayne Morgan, Adam Morgan, Beryl Morgan, Trevor Morgan, Alissa Morgan, and Michael Angeline, and two great grandchildren; Byson and BriEll. Also surviving are his two brothers; Joseph L. Morgan of Pensacola, FL and Donald P. Morgan of Snow Shoe, and two sisters; Rosemary Deliman and Delores Delman and her husband, John, both of Philipsburg.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, William J. “Billy” Morgan, Jr. and a sister, Mildred Milliron.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8pm with a Lions Memorial service and Rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass with be on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11am at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe, with Father Lubomir Strecok officiating. Burial will follow at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.
